High Speed Inspections

While engineering a high-speed inspection system many factors come into play. The belt speed is determined by resolution needed, part size, weight, durability, and total volume needed. Generally, a belt speed between 400 and 700 feet per minute is found to work the best. Once the belt speed is found a camera and lighting system can be matched to the system. This is the most critical step. The lighting, camera, and lens are the backbone of the system. Next, you need to pick the best method of removing the defective part or foreign material from the product stream. With high-speed applications, an air blast is the fastest and most accurate way. Now you add a fast computer, custom vision algorithms, custom user interface, and sleek package to hold it all and you have a high-speed sorter that will pick out defects or foreign material from the product stream. If you wish, you can add a weight counted packaging system to the end of the sorter. This will eliminate the chance of recontamination.

We at Dunkley International will do all of this for you. With your parts and our years of experience we can tailor make a system for your needs.
